  • Westwing An 'artistic view' of the west wing of our house in West Norfolk, UK. Apart from being home to my wife, the cat (Ziggy - cos he's got different coloured eyes) the house also contains three workshops, where we're building the new MicPre/EQs, but also our TV studio - with De Lane Lea's ex Dean Street console.
  • m2 I initially built what is now just a studio into a TV and film dubbing suite. You can see the audio section in the foreground. In front of that is vision control and a small studio over in the top right.
  • !vision This is the vision area of the dubbing suite.
  • Audio This is the audio area of the dubbing suite. It contailed an Akai 16 track DAW, a Yamaha OR2. I did design and bulld the audio/video monitoring unit - the control panel of which os shown just in front of the lower set of PPMs.
  • Chelsea HD JW Another picture of Harry Davis, foreground, and John Wood in Chelsea in 1965.
  • Chelsea Mic amp A better photo of the prototype mic/line amp from early 1965. The PCB was home made in my kitchen!!
  • Chelsea mixer1 1965 Chelsea's first desk.
  • Chelsea mixer2 1965. Chelsea's first desk. In the background you can see the Ampex 4 track deck, I built the amplifiers. Underneath the fantastic 'green' EMI limiter - fantastic on close miced piano!
  • Chelsea tape 1965. On the left, a two track Ampex deck and a mono Ampex desk. Note the 'home made' amplifiers underneath. They were housed in ex BBC transcription turntable consoles. (We were going to fill in the holes where there used to be a control panel for the turntable amplifiers - but never got round to it!
  • Clock The digital stop clock. We sold abought 80 of these. They were rarely used to time records. Engineers used to gamble on these instead!
